Canyon Lake has been frequently
termed "A Bit of Paradise".
This unique community was
originally formed by the Railroad
Canyon Dam in 1927, and in 1968 it
was master planned by the Corona
Land Company to become the private
community of Canyon Lake.

Occupying over 2,000 acres of
scenic terrain, this
recreation-oriented paradise
offers a suburb alternative to
going on vacation (i.e., staying
on vacation all year round)!
At 1,400 feet elevation, and a
population of nearly 14,000
people, Canyon Lake is both an
Incorporated City and a
Corporation of Property Owners.
The City of Canyon Lake is
responsible for the health,
safety, and welfare of its
residents, including police and
fire protection, waste management,
animal control and maintenance of
public roads (e.g., Railroad
Canyon Road).
In addition to the warm climate
and broad blue skies, Canyon
Lake's primary attraction is an
immense 383-acre water skiing lake
that is private and uncrowded.
The lake has 14.9 miles of
shoreline with houses, condos and
vacant lots surrounding it.
There are
approximately 1,000 lakefront
properties, 3,500 non-lakefront
properties, 175 condos and 125
manufactured homes in Canyon Lake.

Lake.
The Property Owners Association (POA)
leases surface rights to the lake
for the enjoyment of its
membership. Lakeside parks,
swimming areas, fishing “holes”,
beaches, a slalom course and a
jump lagoon, gas docks, and rental
slips make the lake a busy place,
thanks to the Canyon Lakers and
the more than 2,000 boats they
have registered with the POA.
Each year the Association stocks
the lake with a generous supply of
catfish and bass, which join the
crappie and bluegill there, for
the enjoyment of fisherman.
